Everything you need. Nothing you don't.

Built for the realities of a high school English classroom.

๐Ÿ“–

Read & Listen โ€” simultaneously

Students read the full text while the character-voiced audiobook plays. Each word highlights in sync as it's spoken โ€” so struggling readers stay on track without falling behind.

๐ŸŽญ

Talk to the characters

Students chat with Nick Carraway, Jay Gatsby, Juliet, and more. The AI only knows what the student has read so far โ€” no spoilers, no shortcuts. Just genuine engagement with the text.

๐Ÿ“

AI-generated quizzes โ€” graded instantly

Generate a chapter quiz in one click. Multiple choice and short answer. The AI grades everything automatically and gives students immediate feedback. You see every score in your dashboard.

๐Ÿ“Š

Know exactly who's falling behind

A real-time progress grid shows every student's chapter status. Students who haven't opened the book in 3 days are flagged โ€” with one-click to copy their emails for a personal outreach.

๐Ÿ“ฃ

Announcements & discussion prompts

Post chapter-specific announcements and AI-generated Socratic questions. Approve discussion prompts before they're visible to students โ€” you stay in control of the conversation.

Common questions

What grades is this designed for?

The Great Gatsby is a perfect fit for 11th grade American Literature. Romeo & Juliet works well for 9th grade English. More titles coming โ€” always aligned to common high school curricula.

How do students access it?

Students create a free account at interactiveclassics.app and enter your 6-character class code. Chapter 1 of every book is always free with no account required โ€” perfect for a first-day demo.

Do students need to pay?

With a class license, your students get full access to the assigned book at no cost to them. The license covers your entire class for a year.

Is student data private?

Yes. We use Clerk for authentication and Neon (PostgreSQL) for data storage โ€” both SOC 2 compliant. Student data is never sold or shared. We don't use it to train AI models.

Do I need to involve IT or administration?

No. Interactive Classics is a web app โ€” nothing to install, no district SSO required, no IT ticket. Sign up, create a class, and share the code. Done.

Can I try it before buying?

Absolutely. Chapter 1 of The Great Gatsby is always free with no account needed. You can also request a free beta class license while we're in early access.
